Audi MMI   MMI control console  Television
For safety reasons, the TV picture or the video picture from an external AV device is only displayed when the vehicle is stationary.
Via the MMI system you can receive analogue and digital TV channels as well as digital radio stations1) in the DVB-T standard.
Your MMI system automatically displays a list of the available TV channels. You do not even have to set up the channels. Use the rotary pushbutton in the usual way to select the TV channels. How many channels and which ones you receive depends on your current location (analogue and/or digital TV reception) and the reception conditions.
DVB-T channels/stations can primarily be received in big metropolitan areas. Reception is dependent on a number of factors, e.g. the distance to the transmitter and the speed at which the vehicle is travelling.
Would you like to connect additional AV devices to your MMI system? No problem! You can connect up to two AV devices (audio/video out port). Suitable connector cables are available from Audi dealers or specialist retailers.
The picture is at first only shown within the inner section of the MMI display; however, after a few seconds the TV/video picture will expand to the full screen. The volume will automatically be muted if the TV reception becomes poor. The volume will be switched on again automatically if the TV reception quality improves. While you are driving, the screen will be darkened for your safety. However, you can still listen to the audio.
Note
  • The analogue/digital TV reception only supports the DVB-T standard. Other standards such as DVB via satellite (DVB-S), DVD for hand-held devices (DVB-H) or encrypted programmes / Pay TV are not supported.
  • The DVB-T network is still in the process of expanding and is therefore not available in all areas. Please obtain information regarding DVB-T reception in the region you live in.
1) Digital radio stations / TV channels can only be received via DVB-T in some countries and regions.
